Nissan Kicks
Kicks is an answer, which Nissan has given to India's SUV craving Car buyers. Kicks is based on same BO platform which is shared by its siblings Duster and Captur. The Kicks is 4384 MM Long, 1813 MM Wide, 1656 MM Tall and Wheelbase is 2673 MM. The ground clearance of Kicks is very huge, i.e. 210 MM.


Price and Engine
Hyundai Creta rival Nissan Kicks is launched at a price of 9.55 to 14.65 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. The Nissan Kicks gets 1.5-litre K9K DCI 4 Cylinder Diesel engine coupled up with a 6-speed manual gearbox, it produces 110PS of power and 240Nm of Torque.
It also gets 1.5-litre H4K 4 Cylinder petrol engine coupled up with 5-speed manual gearbox, it produces 106PS of power and 142NM of Torque.


Exterior Design
The Kicks Design is unique. The headlamps is combination of Led Projectors for the low beam and Halogens for the High Beam. Between the headlamps is the Nissan's V motion grill which gives a cool look to Kicks. The boomerang styled tail lamps adds uniqueness to the Kicks.
While the side profile of Kicks looks very eye catching, the 17inchs Machine Cut alloy wheels looks elegant. The spare wheel is normal steel wheel and is mounted under the vehicle. The Kicks gets body coloured ORVMs which also has turn indicators on it and are Electrically Adjustable. The Kicks does not have idle SUV like shape but it has its unique identity.


Interior Design
The interiors are very premium. There is a stitched leather finish on the dashboard and the plastics used in the interiors are of very good quality. The center console looks very elegant and rich.
There is a 8 inch touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay and it is very responsive and lag free. The Car buyers will love to be in front seats rather than the back seats due to its premium dashboard.
The steering wheel also have leather wrap on it and has only tilt adjustment option and there is no reach adjustment option. The controls are placed on the opposite sides. The fog lamps, headlamps and side indicator controls are on left side of the steering, while the wiper controls are on the Right side of the steering. It will take some time to Indian car buyers to accustomed to this opposite position of the controls.
There is a fixed Arm rest with no storage space under it, between the front seats. There is some storage space near the gear lever. The main glove box provided is deep, contains key charger, light and cooling facility in it.
The rear seat is flat. The under thigh support is good and it has decent knee room. The head room is sufficient and it can easily accommodate 3 passengers. Also there are 3 head rest on the rear seat of the Kicks, 2 are adjustable head rest, while the middle head rest is fixed. The rear cabin is airy and has decent size windows. One can enjoy unobstructed outside view. There are rear AC vents in the middle for rear passengers.
The boot space is of 400 litres, which is very well shaped and also there is a luggage lamp which will be very useful to keep luggage properly in the dark.

Drive
Kicks has Disc brakes in front and drum brakes at the Rear. Kicks ride quality is very good, the Noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) level is low and cabin is silent. The gear shifting is small, the gear slots are very well fixed and the clutch is light.

Features Rich
There is one segment first unique feature which is not offered by any Automobile Company or any Car in India that is 360 Degree Camera. There are cameras on all the four sides, one camera is placed at the rear, other 2 cameras are placed under the right and left ORVMs while the last camera is placed in the front grill in Nissan's logo.

Misses
There are few misses that could have been avoided.
The Nissan Kicks is only launched with Manual Transmission and there is no automatic transmission on offer.
In the era of sunroofs, Kicks misses it.
The electrically adjustable driver seat is absent.

Tata Harrier Detailed Review

The Automobile Sector kick started 2019 with Big launches.
Automobile sector is booming in India and is growing at very high pace. Indian Car manufacturers have launched new models in almost every segment. The biggest launch of all, is the much awaited Tata Harrier.

Tata Harrier
Tata showcased concept H5X in auto expo 2018 first time which is now known as Harrier and with this Tata declared the beginning of New Tata. Harrier is much awaited car of the Year. The Harrier is 4598 MM Long, 1894 MM Wide, 1706 MM Tall and has a wheelbase is 2741 MM. The ground clearance of Harrier is very huge, i.e 205 MM. The build quality of Tata with Harrier has taken a step ahead.

Price Platform and Engine
Xuv 500, Jeep Compass rival Tata Harrier is launched at a price of 12.69 to 16.25 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.
The SUV comes only with a 5 Seater option. The 7 Seater version is still in progress. Tata has introduced impact 2.0 design with its flagship SUV Harrier. Harrier is based on Land Rover D8 platform and Powered by a Fiat Engine. The engine unit is 2.0-litre Kryotec 4-cylinder diesel engine and is coupled with 6speed manual gearbox, which produces 140hp and 350Nm of torque. Tata using Land Rover jenes for the first time, after it took Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) in 2008; will give immense Creditibility to Tata.


Exterior Design
The design of Harrier is very fresh. The DRLs are placed on top and has swapped with the Headlights. The DRLs also acts as a turn indicators. Headlamps are placed down, above the fog lamps and below the DRLs. The Headlamps are combination of HID Xenon Projectors and Halogens. The Fog lamps also acts as cornering lamps. The sharply style 3D Led Tail lights are inspired by Jaguar and it gives the SUV a very premium look.
While the side profile of Harrier looks excellent, but the 17inches Alloy Wheels looks small and are pretty ordinarily designed. The spare wheel is normal steel wheel and is mounted under the vehicle. The Harrier gets dual coloured ORVMs which also has turn indicators and puddle lamps projecting the Harrier logo in the dark.

Interior Design
The interior is premium and plush. The plastics used in interior are soft touch plastics and are of a very good quality. The centre console looks very upmarket. The charming 8.8 inch touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay grabs the attention. There are Terrain Response Modes (with Normal, Wet and Rough modes) and glass holders between the front seats with arm rest which has storage underneath it, with cool glovebox.
Another highlight in the Harrier is its partially digital instrument cluster with 7 inch display which looks stunning. Tata has provided 9 JBL speakers audio system which will blow your mind with its sound.
The rear seat is flat. The under thigh support is good, also it has decent knee room and there is good amount of head room. The rear seat can accommodate 3 passengers easily.
The rear cabin is airy and has big windows. The high seating position of the rear seat, provides great outside view. The rear AC vents are in the B-pillars. The boot space is 425 litres and is also well shaped.

Drive
Tata Harrier gets 5 differnt drive modes - City, Sports, Economy, Wet and Rough.
It is Front wheel drive, has light clutch backed by effortless gear shift. Harrier gets Hydrolic steering and no electronic power steering (EPS). Harrier gulps the bumps and potholes like a champ, as the front suspension is sourced from the Discovery. To keep a check on the costs, the rear suspension is not sourced from D8 platform and is Semi Independent Twist Blade. This has been Jointly developed by Tata and Lotus Engineering. The Harrier has Disc brakes in front and drum brakes at the Rear.

No Petrol variant on offer.
Electrically adjustable driver seat is absent.
